Advice:

When the decision is taken to remove a council owned tree, the Arboricultural Officer will determine whether it is appropriate to replant a tree in the same place or very close by, each tree removed will be replaced although this may be elsewhere in the borough. Aspects considered will be the impact of the tree on the site and future planting will take account the character of the site, its future use and local interests.

The council will operate “The Right Tree, Right Place” policy which should prevent trees being planted in unsuitable locations.
