Important information for applicants

  • Application deadline: Sunday 19 July
  • Bids can be submitted for a maximum of £5,000 per event
  • Events must take place between 1 September 2026 and 31 March 2027
  • All applications will follow an evaluation proces

Priority will be given to events which:

  • Have a positive community impact
  • Deliver a high-quality cultural experience
  • Support the local economy
  • Celebrate South Ribble’s identity and boost pride of place
  • Support inclusivity and diversity
  • Consider environmental sustainability
  • Align with the priorities in our Culture Strategy

Who can apply

  • A voluntary organisation or community group
  • Community Interest Company (CIC)
  • Private Limited Company with no share capital and with community benefit objectives

Applicants must:

  • Be based in South Ribble
  • Have a group or organisation bank account
  • Have appropriate insurance in place

The Cultural Events Fund is not appropriate for events that:

  • Take place outside of the borough
  • Have already taken place
  • Are already in receipt of funding from the Council
  • Are religious, political, for-profit or private events
  • Have a negative impact on the environment
