Temporary Event Notice fees

There is a £21 fee for a Temporary Event Notice.

If you fail to provide any of the information or fail to pay the fee, the notice will be rejected. No refunds will be provided for rejected notices.

Apply for a Temporary Event Notice

To apply, you should complete a Temporary Event Notice application form.

The completed form should be sent to us by email to licensing@southribble.gov.uk. Alternatively you can post 2 copies to South Ribble Borough Council Licensing Team, Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 1DH.

We will sign 1 copy of the Temporary Event Notice and return it to the notice giver.

A further copy must also be given to the Licensing Department, Preston Police Station, Lancaster Road, North Preston, PR1 2SA.

A further copy must also be sent to South Ribble Borough Council Environmental Health, Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland, PR25 1DH.

The Police and Environmental Health have 3 working days to raise any objections to the notice. Where no objections are raised, the signed copy of the TEN forms the 'licence' for the event, and must be available at the premises throughout the event.

Any Police or Environmental Health representations that cannot be satisfactorily addressed, must be referred to a meeting of our Licensing Sub-Committee for determination.

Open air events

If your Temporary Event Notice is for an event wholly or partly in the open air, please submit a scale plan clearly identifying the area to be used with your notice. The plan must clearly show the location and clearly show the area intended to be used.

You also need to notify the owner of the premises you are using that you are giving a Temporary Events Notice and obtain any necessary public liability insurance for your event.
