Trade waste collections

We operate weekly trade waste and fortnightly paper and card recycling services, open to all commercial properties across the borough.

The package includes free impartial advice from our dedicated experts, rental and collection of the required bins, and associated disposal costs, along with documentation outlining your legal responsibilities.

We offer different sizes and types of bins for both your recyclable and non-recyclable waste.

Missed trade waste collections

Before reporting a missed bin collection please read the below information and make sure:

  • your bin was out by 7:30am on your collection day
  • the correct bin was left out for collection
  • your bin lid was closed. Overfilled bins will not be collected, and bags of waste left next to the bins will not be picked up
  • your bin did not have any wrong items in it that should be in a different bin.

When to report a missed bin collection

  • only report a missed bin collection after 4pm on your collection day, even if your bin is normally emptied before this time, as the waste crew may still be out collecting
  • we will only return to empty your bin if it is reported as missed within 2 working days after your collection day
  • our bin crews record any bins that are not presented for collection, are too heavy or contain the wrong items
  • if your bin has not been emptied for any of the reasons above, we will not return to empty your bin until your next scheduled collection day.

If it is our mistake that your bin has not been emptied, please let us know and we will return to collect it within 2 working days.

Your responsibilities

It is an offence to put waste or recycling from a business into a domestic bin or to take it to a Household Waste Recycling Centre (tip).

The Environmental Protection Act 1990 says all businesses, regardless of their size, must manage and dispose of their waste responsibly.

You must store waste appropriately and securely; check it is transported and handled by people authorised to do so and that the site it is taken to is authorised to accept it.

You  must also complete waste transfer notes to document all waste you transfer and keep them as a record for at least 2 years.

You can contact us to set up a trade waste collection. Once the contract has been signed and all further checks have been carried out, we will aim to have the service up-and-running as soon as possible.
