A Postcard from South Ribble...
We've teamed up with the Rotary Club of South Ribble and sponsors Wilkinson Cameras to launch a new photography competition celebrating the special beauty and rich history of our borough.
Photography has the power to capture special places, moments and impressions - and this competition gives participants the chance to share their experiences of South Ribble in photographs. The theme is 'A Postcard from South Ribble' and we want participants to interpret the brief in an imaginative way.
Beauty, history, quirkiness and humour abound in South Ribble!
The aim of the competition is to find photographs that illustrate the qualities of South Ribble and would be suitable as a postcard.
Closes 31 August 2021. Enter here.
On Your Doorstep
The first UK lockdown started on 23 March 2020 and further lockdown periods in 2020 and 2021 meant that we all had to stay local. This led many people to discover their local area and see features and artefacts they had never noticed before which made them smile or chuckle. Within South Ribble there are many buildings with interesting and historic interiors and we would like to see your take on them. This competition is not all about landscapes. We want you to find, photograph and exploit in an imaginative way all aspects of the borough.
There are special categories for young people up to the age of 25. The digital camera revolutionised photography and today's smartphones include sophisticated and advanced digital cameras. We want young photographers to demonstrate their skill and talent with these modern tools.
