HAF

What is HAF?

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) scheme, funded by the Department for Education, aims to provide healthy food and enriching activities for children aged 4 to 16 who are eligible for benefit-related Free School Meals, or other criteria detailed below. The national HAF scheme has been running in South Ribble since 2021 and is available in the Summer, Christmas and Easter holidays,

We deliver a programme of activities as part of the HAF scheme, through South Ribble Leisure Centres and our high-quality providers. Activities change throughout the year, but often include swimming, gymnastics, tennis, boxing skills, arts and crafts, multi-sports, football, forest school, climbing wall and much more.

The HAF scheme:

  • is free of charge
  • offers fun activities and experiences
  • includes free food and refreshments
