South Ribble Borough Council are offering low-cost active camps for children over the February half-term.

The Active Camps provide a safe and fun environment for children to enjoy their school holidays while getting vital physical activity.

Sessions will take place in Northbrook Primary School in Leyland, Cuerden Church School in Bamber Bridge and Kingsfold Primary School in Penwortham from Monday 17 February to Friday 19 February.

Active Camps are the council’s own school holiday provision and are delivered by a highly skilled, highly qualified team offering offer specialist provision for dance, scooters and bikes, target sports, football, dodgeball and so much more.

Councillor Clare Hunter, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Wellbeing said, “The half term can be a stressful time for many families and that’s why we have developed this affordable programme. 

“Whilst we have tried to keep our prices low, we are committed to ensuring that our programme is accessible to as many people as possible. 

“For those on free school meals, we can provide a few funded places free of charge. Please see our website for more details.

“All children who access Active Camps will also receive a free, balanced, healthy lunch compliant with Lancashire County Council school meal guidelines.”
