Allotment gardening can provide a wide range of benefits, both to communities and the environment.  As well as providing low-cost food and flowers, keeping an allotment can be a great way to stay healthy and meet people. Allotments often provide habitats for many forms of wildlife too.

We own several sites across the borough some of which we manage directly and some which are administered by allotment societies.

Apply for an allotment plot

The council directly manages the allotment sites at:

  • King George V Playing Fields, Higher Walton.
  • St John's Green, Leyland.

Plots at these sites are very popular and therefore we have an allotment waiting list. If you join the waiting list, please make sure you let us know if your details change so we can still contact you.

Anyone wishing to place their name on the waiting list should contact us by email to estates@southribble.gov.uk or by calling 01772 625625.

Please provide the following information:

  • full name
  • address, (you must live in the South Ribble borough)
  • a day time telephone number
  • an email address (if you have one)
  • please let us know if you have a preference for any particular allotment site

Other allotment sites available managed on the council's behalf

There are also a number of other sites around the borough managed by allotment societies who can be contacted using the details below to enquire about plots at these sites.
