Garden Waste 2024/2025

You do not need to contact us if you've received notification that your 1 February Direct Debit payment has been cancelled.

We will send a further notification in February to confirm Direct Debit payments for 2024/25 subscriptions will be taken on 1 March 2024.

Subscriptions run from 1 April to 31 March every year. Subscriptions for the year 2023-2024 are now closed. You will need to sign up to subscription year 2024-2025 to use this service.

Subscription year 2024-2025 will open in March 2024.

If you have not signed up to direct debit, your garden waste collections will stop from 31 March 2024, until you renew your subscription.

How to subscribe to garden waste service

You will need to sign up to subscription year 2024-2025 to use this service. 

If you pay by direct debit, you will not need to do anything. Your payment will be debited on 1 March 2024.

For non-direct debit payments, a subscription form will be available on this page from 4 March 2024.

Once you have successfully subscribed, you will receive a sticker in the post. The sticker must be displayed on the back of the bin, under the handle. Your bin will not be collected unless it has the sticker displayed.

It can take up to 12 working days for your bin sticker to arrive. If you have not received your sticker after 12 working days, you can contact the Gateway Team on 01772 625 625. 

Stickers not received within 28 days weeks can be replaced free of charge if reported within the time frame, missing stickers reported after 28 days will incur an administration cost of £2.95.

If you do not wish to re-subscribe to the garden waste service you will no longer get a brown bin collection when the year is over (31 March 2024). You can either compost the garden waste at home or dispose of it at your local household waste recycling centre for free.

All bins are subject to our container charging policy if lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair.

Subscribe by Direct Debit

In 2024 the direct debit subscription date will change to 1 March. If you have an existing garden waste subscription you do not need to do anything and your payment will automatically be debited on 1 March 2024 without you having to do anything more. 

If you do not have an existing direct debit set up, you will be able to create one from 4 March 2024 when the subscription window opens. 

More than one subscription

If you want more than one subscription, but only have one bin at present, we will provide an additional bin for free. Note: this must be requested during the subscription process.

Cancellation policy
