Positive youth activities in Bamber Bridge

As part of our 2024/25 Corporate Strategy commitment to establish an inclusive youth provision, we are inviting applications from organisations to deliver dynamic and positive youth activities from existing community spaces and places in the Bamber Bridge locality - an area in the borough with higher rates of anti-social behaviour.

A total of £48,424 is available to commission at least 4 organisations to deliver youth activities for ages 11 to 18 (up to 25 for young people with SEND).

There are no minimum or maximum award limits. Funding will be allocated through a competitive process, prioritising diversity, value for money, and alignment with the projects aims and local needs.

Delivery periods

The overall project programme will comprise of 2 delivery periods, with a minimum of 2 providers commissioned to deliver short to medium term youth activities and provision:

  • period 1: January to March 2026
  • period 2: March to June 2026.

What we will fund

We will support positive youth activities which may broadly include:

  • sports, leisure and culture
  • youth voice and engagement
  • informal education and volunteering
  • youth clubs, community-focused and informal social activities.

Funding could cover:

  • venue hire
  • staffing
  • relevant training
  • food and beverages
  • equipment.

Expected outcomes

Provision must demonstrate impact against the following key outcomes for young people:

  • personal development - young people have improved life skills such as, enhanced confidence, communication and teamwork and demonstrate a better understanding of their interests and motivations, showing optimism for their future
  • wellbeing - young people have improved emotional wellbeing, physical health and/or emotional resilience
  • positive diversionary activities - young people are increasingly engaged in positive and structured activities that divert them from anti-social based behaviour.
