Eat healthily ... and get plenty of Vitamin D!

It is so important we get all the vitamins and minerals our bodies need, and over the winter months it's especially important to make sure we're getting enough Vitamin D which helps to keep our bones, teeth and muscles healthy.

This has been even more vital during Covid-19 as many of us have been indoors more than usual. Vitamin D supplements are available to buy from pharmacies and supermarkets, but you can also get the Vitamin D you need from your diet.

Food sources of Vitamin D include:

  • oily fish - such as salmon, sardines, herring and mackerel
  • red meat
  • liver
  • egg yolks
  • fortified foods - such as some fat spreads and breakfast cereals
