Each year the Elections Office is required to write to every household in the borough to confirm whether the details on the electoral register are correct.
At the beginning of the summer the Elections Office wrote to all residential properties in the borough to ask residents to confirm who is currently living there and is eligible to vote. At the end of August a reminder form was sent to all properties who had yet to respond.
Between the end of September and the middle of November canvassers will visit all properties who haven’t responded to this years’ canvass to encourage a response and assist where needed.
But you don’t have to wait for the canvasser to call – you can respond now. If you still have one of the previous forms that has been delivered to your property you can respond using one of our automated channels: text, phone or online. Look at the leaflet that was enclosed with your form for further guidance on how to respond. Alternatively you can complete the paper form and send it back to us in the post.
