Civic Centre Parking – Summary

The rear car park at the Civic Centre is a pay‑and‑display car park. Free parking is only available for visitors attending official Council business.

Free parking is available for:

  • members of the public attending Cabinet, Council, Planning, Licensing, Scrutiny, Standards or other committee meetings
  • members of the Town Deal Board
  • guests attending Remembrance Sunday or Mayoral events
  • visitors with pre‑arranged appointments with Citizens Advice, DWP or Council teams (one hour free; longer stays must be agreed with the service being visited)

Visitors must enter their vehicle registration on arrival using the self‑service tablet via the facilities team.

Free parking is not available for:

  • planning applicants and their agents
  • licence holders, including taxi drivers
  • consultants working for the Council
  • observers at political group meetings
  • bookers of the Conference Suite (parking can be purchased as part of the booking; charges resume at 8am for vehicles left overnight)
