COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund (CARF)

South Ribble Borough Council has adopted a Discretionary Rate Relief scheme to assist those businesses/ratepayers who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021/22 only. This relief has been awarded to those businesses/ratepayers who were ineligible to receive the Extended Retail Discount (Covering Retail, Hospitality and Leisure) or Nursery Discount.

The types of business premises that will be supported under this scheme include:

• day nursery & premises (which are ineligible for Nursery Discount)
• factory & premises
• garage & premises (which are ineligible for Extended Retail Discount)
• hall & premises
• office & premises
• shop & premises (which are ineligible for Extended Retail Discount)
• store & premises
• warehouse & premises
• workshop & premises

A letter will be sent to qualifying businesses/ratepayers setting out the eligibility criteria, and the option to opt out of receiving relief if the business:

1. is not eligible
2. does not wish to receive the relief
