Assets of community value
Local community groups have the right to nominate an area of land or a building for listing by the council as "asset of community value".
Subject to certain conditions this, will give an opportunity for community interest groups, such as a parish or town council or a local voluntary group, to register an interest in purchasing the asset if the owner decides to sell it.
