Active Schools is a huge part of our work with young people all over the borough. We are delighted to say that we work with each of the primary schools in the borough with our programme. The Active Schools programme is an offer of paid for and funded services which schools can access throughout the school year. Our offer is split into 4 parts:
- competitions and festivals
- active lifestyles and wellbeing
- active travel
- active clubs.
Our offer ensures we can support schools throughout their curriculum to provide more opportunities for young people to be physically active during and after the school day.
Please email us at sports@southribble.gov.uk to request more information on our offer.
Active Health is proud to host a School Games Organiser to deliver our School Games programme. Our School Games programme seeks to get involved at all levels of competition, but we have a priority focus on Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and Alternative Provision (AP) schools, leadership academies and providing opportunities for the least engaged with sport and physical activity.
Our School Games Organiser (SGO) is partly responsible for delivering the SPAR Lancashire School Games as part of a team of 12 SGO’s working across Lancashire. View more information on School Games Organisers on the Active Lancashire website.
You can view our School Games and Active Schools programme in action on the South Ribble School Games Facebook page.
